Highs and Lows

I am so very tired. My weekend was…full of mediums and lows. I’ll give you a timeline

Friday: Work went incredibly slow, but I was very happy it was Friday as I was set to hang out with my friend Nick and I didn’t’ have to feel so guilty since the Hubby’s best friend was coming for a visit. I get off work and pick the kiddies up and we have supper and I let Little Guy and Lily play for a while. Just before their bedtime Hubby gets home. Now I had planned to stay home long enough to get the kids in bed then go pick up Nick. Well the Hubby helps me get the kids in bed and decides to run up to Wal-Mart really quick to grab a few things and meet up with his friend there so his friend can follow him back to the new house. This was supposed to be a 15 minute trip. It turned into a 90minute trip (which really didn’t annoy me too bad, I just felt bad since I was late picking Nick up). Well within the 90mintues I receive a phone call from my father. For those of you who don’t know me IRL or haven’t been reading very long. My parents divorced when I was 15, Dad turned into this angry bitter man that only somewhat bears a physical resemblance to the Dad I grew up with. We have had a very rocky relationship over the years, but in the last 4 it has gotten a lot better. Well when I saw his name on my caller id I didn’t think much of it. It’d been a couple of weeks since I’d talked to him, so I answered and basically other than “hello” and “I’m at home” I didn’t get another chance to speak. The gist of the yelling on the other end of the phone was he was disowning me as his daughter until I can screw my mom and step dad over as much as I’ve screwed him over, yadda yadda yadda…don’t call me or anyone else…click. Somewhere at the beginning of that he said something about my step dad supposedly calling him and leaving him messages etc. It’s basically the same thing he always yells at me about. It’s part of that bitter angry thing he has going on. So Hubby gets home after I’ve talked to Dad. I grab my keys, go get Nick and proceed to have a pretty decent night of Jack N Coke’s and an assortment of shots. After the bar I went home and slept pretty good.

Saturday: It was pretty uneventful. Went shopping, had KFC for lunch and dinner and that was it.

Sunday: Morning and early afternoon were uneventful. Spent it at home playing board games and stuff with the kids while Hubby and his friend went to some stores and hung out. Around 4:00 as I was getting ready to head out for my pool league my step mom calls to check on me. Basically she and Dad got into a big fight Friday night and he evidently called and yelled at numerous people that night. So I caught up with her a bit, which made me slightly late to the first night of pool league. Coyote Mike was chomping at the bit and seemed a bit panicky when I arrived. He and I ditched our old pool team from last session and started our own. Most of our teammates we had yet to meet. Most of them were really nice and okay, I wasn’t overly crazy about the two employees that worked for our sponsor, but we figured we’ll give them a chance to correct their attitudes or kick em off. But with everything I dealt with family wise and stuff over the weekend I wasn’t in the best of moods and having a hectic first night of pool wasn’t helping. But we got through it and I think next weekend will go a lot more smoothly. We lost last night, but I think we’ve got some really good players on our team and most of us are there to have fun. We’ll see how it goes.

But there you have it my weekend…does anyone blame me for wanting to disown some of my family?!

So sorry to hear about the father dramas. Until I met my wife's parents, I never truly realised how lucky I was to have two relatively normal people create me.

I hope it works itself out for you...

I'm not overly worried about it. I have my own family to worry about. I would love for Lily to know my Dad how he used to be. But I think that guy is gone. Both my parents were reltively normal until the divorce. Dad had a rough child hood and I think the divorce was the breaking point for him. Who needs cable tv when you have real life? :P

"I have my own family to worry about."

That is the exact rationalw we used when we made the decision to essentially burn bridges with my wife's parents. It sucks, but I think it's necessary.

Well I decided that someone needed to be the adult in the situation and it obviously wasn't going to be him. I don't know what posseses some people to be the way they are.

Love playing pool!! I've got my own 19oz. stick, (always break with a 22 0r 24 house stick), but unfortuantely there are no pool places down here. A couple of "redneck" joints I wouldn't even go for a beer. Them rednecks get real mean if you have an accent! And if, God forbid, you beat them, well,'re bait tomorrow!
Love the KFC (Original)it's gooooooood!
